Hendy Power have won a contract from the Southampton Hovercraft manufacturer Griffon Hovercraft Ltd for the supply of seven Iveco Motors Vector type engines.
They are a 20L V8 diesel engines producing 753 KW (1000HP) each and will power Griffon type 8100TD hovercrafts being supplied to the Swedish Navy.
This is a new application for the engines and the first Iveco Vectors to be sold in the
Hendy Power is now chief supplier to a new Original Equipment Manufacturer who makes invalid Equipment utilising a Ford Escort seat adjustment handle – a first-time application for this component.
Hendy Power have also just completed trials with an Air Conditioning manufacturer who are using part of a Ford Ka heater and control system in their equipment - another first-time application for these Ford components.
