Ford College achieves another first

A presentation at Hendy Group recently recognised the achievement of 31 staff who have completed a Management Development Programme specifically created for Hendy’s by the Ford College. The first to be delivered by the College under the IMI’s Quality Assured Awards (QAA) initiative.

QAA provides an endorsement of the quality and integrity of the training outcomes which is independently verified by IMI Awards. Successful candidates on QAA programmes are
certificated by IMI Awards, adding value to the programme undertaken. Russell Edge, Key Account Manager, Ford College said, “The Hendy Management Development Programme has helped the delegates to grow to achieve their potential and achieve an industry recognised qualification.”

Dealer involvement
Instrumental in setting up the course, HR director Clare Hendy commented, “We are incredibly pleased with the success of the programme and feedback from staff, who have clearly found its content useful. “As well as providing vital support and development, the qualification demonstrates our commitment to our employees and their progression within the Group.” Staff from sales, servicing and parts, across all divisions of Hendy took part in the qualification which was successfully completed over three years.

Very effective
Southampton Service Manager, Mark Nussbaum added, “The course was very effective in highlighting new approaches to different management issues. I was also pleased to work alongside colleagues from other divisions, as this has helped to increase communication across the Group.” In total the course consisted of eight main components including; introduction to management, personal effectiveness, financial skills, developing business, building success, motivating yourself and others, managing change and operations management.

Clare concluded, “We have received some excellent feedback from our staff who seem to have found the programme extremely helpful. We will continue to deliver the course for future groups, making sure we cater to our staff and business needs.”
