Hendy Group celebrates a year of Honda in Hampshire

The south coast based Hendy Group is this week (April 1) celebrating a key milestone as it marks one year of running Honda dealerships in Hampshire.

The group, which has been selling cars in the region for 100 years, added Honda franchises in Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester to its portfolio last spring – a move which managing director Paul Hendy said had been an exciting addition to the group’s business.

“The acquisition of these dealerships has proved the perfect complement to our existing Ford, Mazda and Kia  car franchise operations in Hampshire and Honda in Exeter and we are delighted with the first year’s performance,’’ said Mr Hendy.

“We took on the dealerships at a tough time for the motoring industry but our experience in the business and the quality of the Honda product mean we end the first year ahead of all expectations.’’

The company is celebrating the milestone with Honda at the Hampshire racing circuit Thruxton this weekend as the British Touring Car Championship gets underway for the 2010 season.

The Hendy Group has been steadily expanding its operations in recent years and now has eight Ford dealerships, two Mazda outlets, two Kia franchise operations, Honda in four locations and purpose built truck, bodyshop and parts operations throughout the south and south west.

“While the motoring industry is facing tough economic conditions we are continuing to attract buyers who recognise that now is a great time to secure tremendous value for money,’’ said Mr Hendy. “Scrappage has given the whole industry a much needed boost and we are totally focused on offering our customers the very highest levels of service and some unbelievable deals.’’
