It's no secret that eco friendly cars are very clever, incredibly fuel efficient, better for the environment and a lot better for your bank balance. But aren't they supposed to look funny and drive a little weird?

Not any more.

At Honda we've been developing hybrid technology for years. So it's no surprise the new Civic Hybrid, powered by IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) is setting a benchmark. It delivers the same dynamic styling of the new Civic range along with its smooth, powerful drive. And inside you'll find cutting edge technology alongside excellent quality, comfort and refinement.

In looks, feel and performance the new Civic Hybrid is just like a conventional car. In fact, you could say it's everything you thought a Hybrid couldn't be.

A new design, a new standard. At Honda we continuously look at ways of improving. So we set to work completely re-designing a car we were totally happy with.

New features like 15" alloys, mirror integrated indicators, front fog lights, body coloured side protectors and re-designed headlights bring better aerodynamics, increased style and improved driving.

In looks, as well as innovation, the new Civic Hybrid carries no compromises.

You'll find innovation in every detail, nit just under the bonnet. Wing mirrors are colour coded, aerodynamically efficient and double as additional indicators. Rear light clusters are designed for maximum clarity and complement the distinctive lines. 15" alloy wheels are designed to minimise drag for optimum efficiency.

Al this innovation hasn't been at the expense of comfort and style. Every new Civic Hybrid has climate control, premium audio with 6 CD in-dash multi-changer, heated front seats and door mirrors as standard.

Detailing is of a high level, including metallic finishes to the gear shift, handbrake and door handles.

How the Engine works:

Acceleration: When you start off or accelerate, the electric and petrol engines combine to give a dual power supply. This maximises efficiency when putting burden on the engine, saving on fuel costs.
Cruising: Once cruising, the electric motor kicks in and stops the pistons firing - providing power from recycled energy. This recycled energy comes from the battery pack. So, the more you drive, the more you keep running costs and emissions to a minimum..
Deceleration: The battery gets charged when the car is slowing, traveling down hill or braking with the wheels acting like a dynamo to charge the power pack. Again, by recycling energy, you're saving on fuel and emissions.

Idling: When stationary the engine stops, conserving even more fuel and energy.

Aluminium roof-rack - with a weight of only 5Kg.
Lockable 320 litre ski-box - for skis or snowboards. Light and aerodynamic 350 litre top box which is lockable and offers storage space.
Floor carpets - available in black and ivory.
Bluetooth^® phone system - is conveniently located, ensuring maximum ease and safety while driving. 8 CD changer, installs into front armrest.
Bass works system including attachments - 17cm low frequency speakers and high power amp with maximum output 100W, impedance 2 OHM, 1 kit - 2 speakers plus amplifier, installation of speakers in rear doors. Can be combined with front speaker upgrade kit.
Speaker upgrade kit - 2 x 17cm dual cone speakers, maximums input 60W, impedance 4 OHM, can be installed in front and/or rear doors. Rear door installation not in combination with bass system - including speaker rings.
