Hendy Group is throwing its support behind The Rainbow Centre - by naming the Fareham-based charity as one of its official good causes.
The motor group will spend time raising funds and awareness to help The Rainbow Centre provide a range of services for local people who have suffered with a stroke or head injury, as well as for those with Cerebral Palsy, MS or Parkinson's.
Its first fundraising mission was delivering bags of clothes and household items to the charity's shop in Fareham for a major fundraising day on Saturday (17th) where shop volunteers will include Fareham MP Suella Fernandes.
"The Rainbow Centre works tirelessly to help people find new ways to become active, happy, proud of their own achievements and ready for life's challenges," said Hendy Group commercial director Mark Busby.
"Our team is pleased to support a charity that aims to inspire people in our area to reach their full potential, whatever their own personal battles might be.
"Staff at our dealerships have been collecting as many items as they can to send to the charity's shops to sell. We plan to raise as much money as possible for this vital local resource, and look forward to building a strong relationship with the team there over the coming months."
Lara Bull, CEO of the charity said: "A charity shop is a vital footplate into the community and income stream for any charity but support with donations is equally vital to it's success. We were delighted when The Hendy Group offered to help us through this initiative as it is such an easy way to help our charity increase it's income and the only cost is a little time and planning - if any other businesses in the area would like to support the centre in the same way the charity would be delighted and more than happy to help with collections if required."
