NSX-Inspired EV concept ready to take on the peaks
On the 26th of June Honda will be taking part in the 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, competing in the NSX-inspired EV Concept within the Electric Modified Class. The EV Concept is the next stage of evolution for the all-electric, 4-motor Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) powertrain that won last year's Pikes Peak Challenge Exhibition class.
The concept will be driven by Tetsuya Yamano, who campaigned last year's CR-Z-based electric prototype to its class win. The powertrain produces three times the total system output of last year's electric prototype and is mated to the NSX body.
Pikes Peak also known as The Race to the Clouds, is an annual hill climb to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA. The track measures 12.42 miles with over 150 turns, climbing to an altitude of 4,720 ft.
