Release date announced for the all-new Kia Ceed | June 2018

Here at Hendy Kia, we can't wait to get our hands on the brand-new Kia Ceed, which goes on sale in the UK on 1 August. Now in its third generation, Kia have given the latest Ceed a smart, athletic makeover, and have also enhanced it with new cutting-edge technologies to boost safety and offer a more engaging drive.

Athleticism underpins the visual appeal of this new Ceed, which is wider and lower than previous versions, and also features a broader tiger nose grille and swept-back lights. The Ceed will be available in a choice of 11 paint finishes, and with either 15-inch steel wheels, 16-inch steel or aluminium wheels, or 17-inch two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels. The interior has also been given a thorough makeover in keeping with the Kia's other newer models.

As well as its new facelift, the new Ceed will become the most high-tech car in its class. It is the first Kia to include Lane Following Assist, a 'Level Two' autonomous driving technology, which uses radar sensors to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Additional available technologies include Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind Spot Collision Warning and Smart Parking Assist. Under the bonnet, the Ceed range is powered by a wide choice of powertrains to meet different buyers' needs. Engine options range from a 140ps 1.4-litre T-GDi to an efficient new 'U3' 1.6-litre diesel.

This latest incarnation of the already popular five-door hatchback (more than 1.3 million Ceed vehicles have been manufactured since 2006) also features a noticeable naming format change. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that Kia has dropped the slightly perplexing apostrophe and added a capital letter: swapping cee'd to Ceed.

A new Ceed Sportswagon estate will also be released on 1 August, which also features the sporty update and the same array of engine options. The Sportswagon features near-identical dimensions to the hatchback, but boasts a longer cargo area and rear overhang. The impressive 625 litre cargo capacity offers 205 litres more than the hatchback.
