BEAT THE INCREASE
At Hendy, it's all about you, which is why we're always looking to help our loyal customers find their perfect car at the best price possible, including helping you navigate the latest tax increases. And that's why we wanted to let you know that you could save up to £960 if you purchase and register a new Land Rover before 1st April 2020!
From 1st April 2020, the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure will come into play for all new vehicles. More commonly known as WLTP, this is a more accurate way of measuring a vehicle's official fuel consumption, range and CO2 emissions, giving a truer reflection of real driving conditions.
This change takes effect from 1st April for VED (Vehicle Excise Duty or Road Tax) and 6th April for Benefit in Kind on Company Car Tax. Because the WLTP test is more stringent, the results are more realistic, and this could therefore mean an increase in road tax for your new Land Rover. Evidence across all vehicle manufacturers suggests that more than half of cars will see an increase in VED between 10% and 20%.
Although choosing a new car from April 2020 will result in an increased tax when compared with an identical model purchased earlier, it does present you with an opportunity to save now - so move fast! If you're considering buying a new Land Rover, doing so before 1st April 2020 could save you from £535 to £960. Contact your local Hendy Land Rover to get behind the wheel today!
