Register your interest now for the all electric MG ZS EV
At Hendy MG, we're thrilled to announce that we'll be bringing you the all-new electric MG ZS EV when it's released later this year.
With a full-sized boot and room for five, the MG ZS EV is the perfect car for people who want to go electric but also need the space and practicality of a compact SUV. Inside, you'll be able to relax in the next-generation cockpit layout that's been designed around your needs. It will come with a stunning central display and digital screen between the conventional dials to make navigating through information easier than ever before.
There are also advanced safety features aplenty in this model, including: adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning system, blind spot detection, pedestrian alert control and ISOFIX connections. These have helped the model to achieve a 4-star Euro NCAP rating.
It will also include a 44.5kw/h battery to drive the front wheels, producing 148bhp and 350Nm of torque. With this it will be able to travel around 150-175 miles between charges, and will be fitted with a fast-charging capacity to replenish the battery to 80% in around 43 minutes. Charging overnight is most effective, using a 7kw domestic charger, with a full charge from empty taking around six and a half hours. You will also have the complete peace of mind of MG's seven-year/80,000-mile warranty.
To be one of the first to drive this model away, please get in touch with the team at Hendy MG today to register your interest.
Electric without compromise
Demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids has surged in recent years, with new registrations of plug-in cars increasing from 3,500 in 2013 to more than 210,000 by the end of April 2019, according to Next Green Car. And this number continues to rise!
MG is committed to an electric future, and, in line with its trademark value-for-money approach, the brand is promising 'electric without compromise'. This promise is reflected in its very first battery electric vehicle, the MG ZS EV, arriving later this year. At Hendy, we're happy to answer any questions you might have about going electric, so you can get behind the wheel and start reaping the benefits. Check out the information below, and visit your local Hendy MG dealership to discover the ZS EV for yourself!
Why make the switch?
It goes without saying that zero-emissions vehicles help to reduce our carbon footprint. However, did you know...?
- They are cheaper to run - Electricity is far cheaper than petrol or diesel, which instantly brings down your monthly fuel budget. Not only that, EVs will also travel free in the upcoming Clean Air Zones and London's Congestion Zone.
- They benefit from purchase incentives - Thanks to their impressive environmental credentials, the government are encouraging buyers to make the switch by offering generous purchase incentives. There is also an OLEV Grant providing £500 towards installing a home charging point, plus significant tax incentives.
- They are cheaper to maintain - Electric cars have fewer moving parts - meaning less maintenance and replacement parts (and oil) are required.
- No more trips to the petrol station - Charge your electric car like you would your smartphone or laptop - simply plug it in when you get home from work and it's ready to go the next day.
- They are fun to drive - EVs are also rather fun to drive - electric motors produce maximum torque at any rpm, making them incredibly responsive.
What is an electric vehicle (EV)?
Electric vehicles drive on battery power alone, eradicating the need for petrol or diesel. They store energy in a large battery that powers an electric motor, which can be charged via a home charge-point or a public charger. It can even recover some of its charge while you are driving by utilising energy usually lost when brakingvices.
How does charging work?
Charging an electric car is extremely simple. In the UK, the vast majority of electric car charging is done at home. This is usually the most convenient and cost-effective way to charge. To charge from home, it is best to get a home charge point installed - there is even a £500 OLEV government grant available to help with the cost of this. Furthermore, there are more than 22,500 public connectors in the UK at more than 7,000 locations, such as town centres, supermarkets and motorway services.
How much will it cost?
There will be two versions of the MG ZS EV, starting from £25,000 and ranging up to £32,000 depending on the specification you select.
It is also worth noting that the cost of charging a car will vary by battery size, electricity supplier, tariff fluctuations and where it is charged, but is substantially cheaper than petrol or diesel per mile. The average overnight electricity rate in the UK is 13p per kWh.
