MOKE have announced their brand-new MOKE Electric - and here at Hendy, we can't wait to get behind the wheel! Order books are now open, with the first deliveries scheduled in time for summer 2022. It's safe to say next summer will be one to remember, with the new MOKE providing open-air motoring at its best! Don't miss out - contact Hendy today as MOKE's official UK distributor.

As one of the most-loved British marques, the revived MOKE brand has proven highly popular amongst retro aficionados and a new generation of free spirits. Truly a MOKE for the next generation, the MOKE Electric writes a bold new chapter for the brand - embodying the spirit of the iconic model with the benefit of having a silent powertrain for undisturbed open-air motoring.

The quintessential beach-house buggy is committing to a clean-air powertrain. Indeed, from 1st January 2022, it will no longer be possible to order Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) MOKEs, making the marque the first legacy manufacturer in the world to go fully electric.

Not only that - electrification enhances the unique promise of MOKE with significantly increased performance. The range is 144km - MOKE describe it as 'fit for five round trips between Cap-Ferrat to Monaco'. By our reckoning, that's five road trips from Hendy MOKE in Poole to Worthing!

What's more, it sprints to 55km/h in just 4.5 seconds, and boasts maximum power of 33Kw. Charging takes four hours on the Type 2 EU Standard and the top speed is 100km/h.

The newest member of the MOKE family has been designed from the ground up, with a view to significantly enhancing the driving experience. It comes with reduced weight for a more agile ride, while the instant torque from the electric motor dramatically enhances acceleration and driveability. Other updates include improved braking systems to increased occupant and pedestrian safety features, power steering, regenerative braking and heated windscreens.

Isobel Dando, CEO, MOKE International commented:

"MOKE going electric secures the appeal of one of Britain's best loved marques for many generations to come. MOKE's marriage of fun, personality and open-air thrills will only be enhanced through the performance and silent running of an electric powertrain. We are proud to write a new chapter in one of British automotive folklore's best love stories." All electric MOKEs will be manufactured in the marque's home, the United Kingdom at a state-of-the-art facility operated by the Fablink Group in Northamptonshire, the centre of Britain's automotive heartland.
