Hendy was delighted to be headline sponsor of local charity Wessex Heartbeat's annual summer ball last week. The attending Hendy team members swapped cars for cruise ships at the successful cruise-themed ball, which raised over £23,000.
The wonderful event took place on Friday 15th June at Southampton's Harbour Hotel, and raised a total of £23,332 for the Wessex Cardiac Centre at Southampton General Hospital and Heartbeat House, which provides accommodation and support for families of people undergoing cardiac surgery.
Hendy team members took a new Ford Mustang and Kia Stinger for guests to take a look at, and also donated the keys to the Mustang for the weekend to the winning bidder at the charity auction, which was led by comedian Mike Osman. Following the event, Mark Busby, our Commercial Director, said: "It's fantastic to see so many fellow local businesses supporting this important charity. For us, being able to give back to the communities we operate in is one of the most rewarding parts of running a business."
The fantastic event attracted around 150 guests, who enjoyed a three-course dinner followed by an evening of dancing to fabulous live music from Liam White and his Little Big Band. Wessex Heartbeat Chief Executive, John Munro, commented: "We are incredibly grateful to those who supported our summer ball. The money they raised will make a real difference to people affected by heart disease and help to support our world-class centre at Southampton General Hospital." Other event supporters included Isle of Wight based Mermaid Gin, Taylor Made Computer Solutions, Goadsby, Hobbs the Printers and Air Lynx Travel.
We couldn't be prouder to be supporting Wessex Heartbeat for the third consecutive year, and are continuing to fundraise for this fantastic local charity throughout 2018. Keep an eye on our News page for more updates on what the Hendy team get up to outside of the dealership.
