Hendy Group chief executive Paul Hendy believes there is tremendous optimism now dealerships and service centres have reopened and pointed to a buoyant time in the showrooms.
He was speaking on the latest Auto Retail Network Live webinar which focussed on how customers are returning the showrooms.
"We have about 90 percent of the business up and running and believe there are lots of reasons to be optimistic after what has been an incredibly dark time," he said.
"We are delighted that customers are happy to be back in the showrooms and it is good to see the high degree of confidence in the measures we have taken in the sales environment."
He said the key now was to continue to follow what the customer wants whether that is to visit a showroom, take an unaccompanied test drive or continue with remote transactions and virtual car tours.
"It is about doing what the customer wants and it is good to see such good spirit at the moment. The energy and enthusiasm we are seeing is amazing and we have had a fantastic first 10 days of June."
