The Kia PV5 Cargo has been awarded the maximum five-star rating in the 2025 Euro NCAP Commercial Van Safety Assessment, reinforcing its position as one of Europe’s safest and most advanced electric commercial vehicles.
The PV5 delivered strong results across all key assessment categories, highlighting Kia’s leadership in safe, practical and electrified mobility for the commercial market.
Outstanding safety performance
The PV5 Cargo achieved impressive scores in every area tested:
75% – occupant protection
Including occupant monitoring, driver engagement and vehicle assistance systems.
80% – safety assist and crash avoidance
Covering front collisions, lane departure incidents and low-speed collision scenarios.
80% – post-crash safety
Including rescue information, post-crash intervention and vehicle extrication support.
These results place the PV5 Cargo among the safest commercial vans in Europe, joining Kia’s growing list of five-star Euro NCAP vehicles, including the EV6 (2022), EV9 (2023) and EV3 (2025).
Exceptional advanced driver assistance as standard
Euro NCAP praised the PV5 for its comprehensive range of standard advanced driver assistance systems, all of which performed strongly in demanding real-world test scenarios.

Autonomous emergency braking with forward collision warning
- Strong responsiveness in vehicle-to-vehicle scenarios, even at higher speeds.
- Successfully avoided collisions in most pedestrian and cyclist tests.

Lane support system
Recognised for gentle steering corrections during normal driving and more assertive interventions in critical situations. Its overall performance was rated as “good” by Euro NCAP.
Speed assistance system
Uses digital mapping and a forward-facing camera to identify speed limits and provide clear guidance to help drivers manage speed safely.
Plus, a standard seatbelt reminder for both front seats further enhances the PV5 Cargo’s safety compliance.
