The all-new Škoda Elroq has made a strong start to 2025, securing one of the top honours at the renowned What Car? awards. Ahead of its first customer deliveries in April, the compact all-electric SUV was named Family Electric SUV of the Year, a significant accolade in the automotive world’s equivalent of the ‘Oscars.’

The Elroq, Škoda’s second all-electric model built on the Volkswagen Group’s advanced MEB platform, sits just below the award-winning Enyaq in the brand’s revamped lineup. The What Car? judging panel commended the Elroq for its design, build quality, and remarkable driving range.

“The Škoda Elroq impresses right from the start with its practicality and competitive pricing,” said Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor. “Once on the road, you’ll notice its composed handling, controlled ride, and impressive refinement. With an official range of 360 miles, it outshines many vehicles that cost significantly more, making it a fantastic choice for long-distance driving.”

Available in four well-equipped trim levels—SE, SE L, Edition, and SportLine—the Elroq offers a range of standard features across the board. Prices begin at £31,500 for the entry-level SE model with a 55kWh (52kWh net) battery and rise to £37,400 for the SportLine model, which features the larger 82kWh (77kWh net) battery.

With its practicality, value, and striking new ‘Modern Solid’ design language, the Elroq brings Škoda’s signature features to one of the most competitive segments of the car market. The design is expected to influence the look of future Škoda models.

In addition to the Elroq’s win, the Škoda Scala was named Best Value Family Car of 2025, underscoring its reputation for exceptional value and class-leading practicality.
