Here at Hendy ŠKODA, we were thrilled to see the brand feature highly in numerous categories at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2020.
ŠKODA claimed two overall wins and was named price band winner in seven categories at the consumer motoring magazine's 43rd annual awards, held at Grosvenor House, London.
The ŠKODA Scala was crowned overall winner in the Family Car category. What Car? judged the group based on running costs, reliability, space and ride comfort and selected the Scala 1.0 TSI 115 SE as the winner having also named it as the best buy for Less Than £20,000.
In the Estate category, the ŠKODA Superb took top honours with the Estate 2.0 TDI 150 SE claiming the £20,000 - £30,000 price bracket. This was the fifth year in a row the Superb claimed the top spot; praised again for its sizeable boot space and rear seat comfort.
The Superb beat the Fabia Estate 1.0 TSI 95 SE to the top spot in the same category, after the latter was named winner in the Less Than £20,000 group.
ŠKODA had five other price band winners in other categories on the night. The Fabia 1.0 TSI 95 SE was the £14,000 - £16,000 victor in the Small Car group, while the Small SUV Less Than £20,000 was the ŠKODA Kamiq 1.0 TSI 95 SE.
The ŠKODA Karoq 1.5 TSI SE L was the winner in the £20,000 - £30,000 group in the Family SUV category. ŠKODA's plug-in hybrid, the Superb 1.4 TSI iV SE Technology, was commended with a win in the Less Than £35,000 group in the Plug-in Hybrid category.
The ŠKODA Superb 1.5 TSI 150 SE Technology was the winner in the Less Than £30,000 bracket in the Executive Car category.
