Added peace of mind with Nissan’s new app feature, Stolen Vehicle Tracking
2 min read Published 1 Mar 24

Nissan have introduced a Stolen Vehicle Tracking function, available through the NissanConnect Services app, to maximise their customer’s convenience and peace of mind.

The service allows connected Nissan vehicles to be tracked and located using GPS. The set-up consists of a subscription service provided by Nissan’s service provider, Vodafone Automotive.

Law-enforcement authorities are part of the collaboration in tracking vehicles and co-ordinating their recovery. In addition, if authorities see fit, they can remotely deactivate the ignition through the Vodafone operator.

The Stolen Vehicle Tracking service is available on the Nissan ARIYA, Qashqai (produced from June 2022) and X-Trail (produced since September 2022).

If unsure, Nissan customers can go on the NissanConnect Services app to check if their vehicle comes with Stolen Vehicle Tracking. If their car is compatible, customers can activate a subscription for £99 for 12 months of increased security.*

Key advantages

Enhanced vehicle protection: Security services that are available around the clock.

Readily available online activation: Seamless activation is always accessible through the NissanConnect Services app.

Stay notified: Instant alerts are sent out if an owner’s vehicle is towed without their knowledge. The app then provides steps that can be followed to recover the vehicle.

Continental support: Correspondence between centre operators, police and customers is conducted with ease across an extensive European network.

 • Law enforcement contact: Vodafone Automotive operators and law enforcement authorities have direct contact with each other to share tracking information and work together to recover customer’s vehicles, even in Europe.

Remote ignition deactivation: Some circumstances will allow law enforcement authorities to request the deactivation of a vehicle’s ignition to help recover vehicles.

Collaboration with Vodafone Automotive operators means that the process remains as seamless as possible.

“The addition of Stolen Vehicle Tracking brings an additional level of peace of mind for our customers. They can use their car fully and park it either at home or in less familiar locations, confident that in the case that their Nissan is removed without their permission, they' will be able to use their NissanConnect Services app to help the police identify its whereabouts and recover it.” – Guillaume Pelletreau, Vice President, Electrification and Connected Services, Nissan AMIEO region.

The new features on the NissanConnect Services app work smoothly with the other existing features like remote control of the horn, lights, door locking and unlocking, and a car locator. And for electric vehicles, it works alongside the remote climate control function.

As well as controls, the NissanConnect Services app contains alerts to speed limits, curfew and important location information, and it even monitors a vehicle’s health and provides information regarding the driving history.

Pelletreau went on to say: “With the addition of Stolen Vehicle Tracking to the suite of functions on the NissanConnect Services app, customers will enjoy added reassurance to the existing comfort and convenience offered by their Nissan vehicle via the app.”
