Thousands of motorsport and performance car enthusiasts enjoyed a high octane day at Thruxton Race Circuit in Hampshire as Hendy Performance hosted a hugely popular open day.

The free event provided the perfect opportunity for motoring enthusiasts to meet up, show off their cars and meet Hendy ambassadors Tiff Needell, British F4 racing driver James Hedley and BTCC driver Árón Taylor-Smith.

Visitors had the opportunity to admire some impressive cars including the Jaguar Formula E car, the I-TYPE 5, the Lotus JPS Type 72 Formula 1 car together with a host of new models from Hendy's south coast dealerships including MOKE.

There were also impressive precision driving displays from the Paul Swift Stunt Driving Team and the chance for visitors to use their own car on the skid-pan, together with a huge display of cars from motorists keen to showcase their own vehicles.

The visitor display included everything from the very latest Mustang to classic special edition Subarus, Lotus models, performance Fords and Japanese supercars.

"This has been an amazing day. It has been wonderful to see so many people having a great day out in a Covid-safe environment," said Hendy chief executive Paul Hendy.

"The Hendy Performance team have been incredible putting together so many attractions and it has been great to work with Thruxton to stage the event."

Hendy Performance Brand Manager John Haylett said that for many people this has been the first motoring event they have been to for more than 18 months. "It was great to welcome so many enthusiasts and our own ambassadors to Thruxton for a great day out.

"Our open days are always extremely popular and we were thrilled to join forces with Thruxton Race Circuit to host a mini-motorshow for everyone who loves performance cars," said John.

Precision driver Paul Swift was full of praise for the event and said he had been honoured to be part of the line-up entertaining the spectators. "What a fantastic event and it has been so good to be able to perform our stunts in front of a live audience."
